TOG measures warmth. In UAE and GCC homes where AC typically runs between 20°C and 24°C year-round, 1.0 TOG is the ideal all-season choice; warm enough for a cooled nursery, breathable enough to prevent overheating.
Our Essential Sleep Sack is 1.0 TOG bamboo. Exactly right for the Gulf climate, recommended for nurseries
A sleep sack (also called a sleep bag or wearable blanket) is a wearable garment that replaces loose bedding in the crib. Our bamboo sleep sacks are made from 95% bamboo viscose; soft, breathable and safe for babies with sensitive skin or eczema. Recommended for safe sleep from newborn through toddlerhood.
For air-conditioned homes in the UAE and GCC, 1.0 TOG is ideal year-round. Warm enough for a cooled room without the risk of overheating. Our Essential Sleep Sack is 1.0 TOG; designed specifically with Gulf families in mind.
A sleep sack is a wearable garment with armholes that baby wears like a sleeping bag; it replaces loose blankets in the crib and is recommended by the AAP for safe sleep. A swaddle blanket is a large square of bamboo fabric used for wrapping newborns, cuddling, covering and carrying. Both are made from OEKO-TEX® certified bamboo and come in matching hand-illustrated prints so everything coordinates from day one.
Yes. The AAP recommends removing all loose bedding including blankets, pillows and bumpers from the sleep environment for at least the first 12 months. A sleep sack or sleep bag is the safe alternative; it keeps baby warm without any risk of covering their face during sleep. Our bamboo sleep sacks are designed with this in mind; no hoods, no loose fabric, just safe, breathable warmth next to their skin.
Yes. Bamboo fabric is naturally hypoallergenic, moisture-wicking and free from harsh chemicals. Our Essential Sleep Sack is made from OEKO-TEX® certified bamboo viscose. Our smooth interior and trims were designed for no friction and no irritation, just sleep.
Yes; and this is one of our favourite things about the collection. Our swaddle blankets come in the same hand-illustrated print worlds as your little one's sleepsuit and pajama set; Mermaid Love, Anchor Away, Ocean Snuggles and Pirate Bay. Everything coordinates beautifully from day one.
In air-conditioned UAE and GCC homes where room temperature typically sits between 20°C and 24°C, 1.0 TOG is the ideal sleep sack weight year-round. Underneath, a single layer is usually enough; a short-sleeve bodysuit or a long-sleeve sleepsuit depending on how cool your nursery runs. The goal is to keep your baby warm without the risk of overheating. A simple check; if the back of their neck feels warm and sweaty, they are too hot. If it feels cool, add a layer.
Every baby is different. Some run naturally warmer, others cooler. The TOG guide is a starting point, not a rule. Always observe your baby in the first few nights with any new sleepwear and adjust layers until you find what works for them. When in doubt your paediatrician is always the best person to ask.
Overheating during sleep is one of the key risk factors flagged by the AAP and safe sleep organisations worldwide. Signs your baby may be too warm include; sweating, damp hair, flushed cheeks, rapid breathing or feeling hot to the touch on the back of the neck or chest. A 1.0 TOG bamboo sleep sack in an air-conditioned room at 20°C to 24°C significantly reduces this risk; bamboo viscose is naturally temperature-regulating and moisture-wicking, helping your baby maintain a safe, comfortable body temperature through the night.
The AAP recommends using a sleep sack from newborn through at least 12 months as the safest alternative to loose blankets in the crib. After that there is no upper age limit; most children continue using one happily through toddlerhood and beyond, as long as it fits well and they are comfortable. Our sleep sacks come in sizes to grow with them.
Yes. We ship across the GCC and worldwide from Dubai. Orders to Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman and Bahrain are delivered directly to your door, tax and duties included.
Atlas & Maya's bamboo sleep sack and sleep bag collection is built on one belief; that safe sleep and sensitive skin should never be a compromise.

Everything coordinates beautifully from day one.
Bamboo viscose is one of the most skin-friendly fabrics available for babies. Its round, smooth fibre structure means no friction against delicate skin; no scratching, no irritation, no disrupted sleep. For babies with eczema or sensitive skin it is not just a fabric choice; it is a meaningful one.
